WESTINGHOUSE TEN-SCENE SWITCHBOARD PRESERVED
Best news of the year! A beautiful, huge, and green Westinghouse ten-scene switchboard has been preserved by the Landmark Theatre, formerly Loew's State -- Syracuse (1928). The board was removed when the stage was enlarged in 2010 and has been in storage ever since "awaiting a home," according to Executive Director Mike Intaglietta. This wonderful HD shot was taken by Alex Hawthorn. The house was also equipped with a Peter Clark fly and five Clark stage elevators, the controls also pictured.
The 1930 Westinghouse catalog made a feature of the board.
The inner workings of a similar Westinghouse board, at the Oakland Fox, are described in Pre-selective Switchboards.
