JAMES LEONARD JOY SCENIC DESIGNER

James Leonard Joy was arguably the best set designer Goodspeed Opera House (E. Haddam, CT.) ever had. His use of forced perspective painted drops resulted in breathtaking scenery on a tiny stage in a Victorian jewel-box. It took great imagination to create the illusion of depth on a stage 11'-6'" deep (27' wide), with an 18' high wooden grid where the 32' wide roll drops stored.
